Foucault, in the last volumes of his History of sexuality, outlined an anthropology of pleasure in Greco-Roman Antiquity. This anthropology is established through the theme of the formation of the individual by himself. This line of ethical research constituted a turning point for the French intellectual compared to his previous vocation.
