Additive manufacturing (AM) is a mature technology for the direct manufacture of certain functional parts, resulting in strong industrial interest in additive manufacturing. But the knowledge associated with this technology differs from traditional manufacturing processes, forcing designers to make different design decisions. A number of challenges mean that designers are not yet taking these decisions, which is holding back the integration of AM.Therefore, the objective of our PhD work is to help companies to overcome and mitigate these difficulties during the integration of AM into product design processes.This objective requires a methodological approach to ensure the proper integration of the technology in the industrial context.
