Méthodologie d'intégration de la fabrication additive comme source de créativité pour l'industrie manufacturière

Additive manufacturing (AM) is a mature technology for the direct manufacture of certain functional parts, resulting in strong industrial interest in additive manufacturing. But the knowledge associated with this technology differs from traditional manufacturing processes, forcing designers to make different design decisions. A number of challenges mean that designers are not yet taking these decisions, which is holding back the integration of AM.Therefore, the objective of our PhD work is to help companies to overcome and mitigate these difficulties during the integration of AM into product design processes.This objective requires a methodological approach to ensure the proper integration of the technology in the industrial context. Indeed, the integration of AM requires transmitting and training the designers to the potential of AM, stimulating the creativity of the designers in order to overcome the cognitive biases imposed by the traditional manufacturing and directing the strategy of this integration in accordance with the context of the company.The goal of this PhD is to answer the following question: in a manufacturing company, how to integrate additive manufacturing in the early stages of design as a source of creativity in an innovation strategy?The contributions of this PhD work are the formalization, in the form of methodology, of the integration of AM: the ADAM² methodology (Augmented Design with Additive Manufacturing Methodology). This methodology is structured in 3 phases: a phase of adoption of AM, a phase of planning of AM and a phase of creativity and innovation with AM. The ADAM² methodology is structured around an additive manufacturing integration process and an associated design process. The contributions are demonstrated through a set of experiments.La fabrication additive (FA) est une technologie qui aujourd’hui est mature pour la fabrication directe de certaines pièces fonctionnelles, ce qui entraîne un intérêt fort des entreprises pour la FA. Mais les connaissances associées à cette technologie diffèrent de celles des procédés de fabrications traditionnelles, ce qui oblige les concepteurs à prendre des décisions de conception différentes. Un certain nombre de difficultés fait que ces décisions ne sont pas encore prises par les concepteurs, ce qui freine l’intégration de la FA.Ainsi, l’objectif de nos travaux de thèse est d’aider les entreprises à dépasser et atténuer ces difficultés lors de l’intégration de la FA dans les processus de conception de produits.Cette objectif nécessite une approche méthodologique afin d’assurer la bonne intégration de la technologie au regard du contexte industriel. En effet, l’intégration de la FA impose de transmettre et de former les concepteurs au potentiel de la FA, de stimuler la créativité des concepteurs afin de dépasser les biais cognitifs imposés par la fabrication traditionnelle et d’orienter la stratégie de cette intégration en accord avec le contexte de l’entreprise.Cette thèse a donc pour finalité de répondre à la problématique suivante : dans une entreprise de l’industrie manufacturière, comment intégrer la fabrication additive en phase amont de conception comme source de créativité dans une stratégie d’innovation ?Les apports de ce travail de thèse sont la formalisation, sous forme de méthodologie, de l’intégration de la FA : la méthode ADAM² (Augmented Design with Additive Manufacturing Methodology). Cette méthode se structure en 3 phases : une phase d’adoption de la FA, une phase de planification de la FA et une phase de créativité et d’innovation avec la FA. La méthode ADAM² est structurée autour d’un processus d’intégration de la FA et d’un processus de conception associé. Les apports sont démontrés à travers un ensemble d’expérimentations
