National audienceExtracellular vesicles (or EVs) are heterogeneous nano-sized cellular subspecies released by all cells in the body. They circulate freely in biological fluids and are today considered as potential markers and indicators of many diseases. Thus, identifying and characterizing them remains a major challenge that could lead to rapid diagnosis and prognosis of many diseases. However, due to their heterogeneous sizes, no current technique allows for their proper quantification and characterization.
