In this paper, some aspects related to the plasma magnetic control of the reverse shear configuration envisaged for the ITER operation are analysed. Firstly, initial plasma equilibria have been computed and some open loop simulations are run to compare nominal and reverse shear regime paying particular attention to control relevant quantities, such as vertical instability growth time. Then a linear model is derived for each configuration to study the coupling of the plasma with the passive structures, which is a key feature in the design of feedback stabilization controllers. Finally, linear open loop plasma response is evaluated and the results compared with the non-linear simulations
