This paper is an attempt (1) to enumerate some of the physical, social, intellectual, and personality traits of the mentally superior child with the hope that it might help the classroom teacher to understand him as a whole person; (2) to trace the highlights in the development of the research on the mentally superior child through the review of the literature; and (3) to Smmarize and describe some of the educational programs that have been set up to meet the educational needs of the mentally superior child
