Bridging Geographic Information Systems and Computing Education

This report details the work of the 2021-202 Esri Clinic team. Our task was to create educational modules to teach computer science to middle or high school students through Esri’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. In the fall, we created the Vacation Locations StoryMap along with two extension activities, aimed at students with little background in CS. In the spring, we developed two custom Experience Builder widgets, a drag-and-drop widget and a dropdown widget, as well as a live website that showcases the capabilities of these widgets in a computer science education context
