My thesis explores the collaboration between UN Assistance and Peacekeeping missions and multi-lateral Western Counterterrorism forces. Through studying four UN Missions, I found that the missions and the counterterrorism forces often had conflicting goals, but continued to collaborate because of the interests of Western Democracies that dominate UN policy. The lack of focus on UN Missions\u27 mandated goals is eroding the integrity of the UN as a whole and the work the organization accomplishes
