Les petits ARN nucléolaires (snoRNA) sont de petits ARN non-codants importants pour la biogenèse des ribosomes via la maturation et la modification des ARN ribosomiques. Il y a deux types de snoRNA : les C/D et les H/ACA qui guident les modifications en reconnaissant leurs cibles par complémentarité de séquence. Dans les dernières années, de nouvelles fonctions ont été découvertes pour les snoRNA. Plusieurs snoRNA ont été identifiés comme étant dérégulés dans diverses pathologies, mais leur implication est encore mal comprise.
