Glottalisation en korebaju : la question d'un trait mixte segmental et suprasegmental

International audienceKorebaju is an Amazonian language from Colombia. Four field surveys conducted between 2017 and 2022 with six speakers of the same village has enabled us to identify a set of glottal productions that appear to fall under the segmental and suprasegmental levels. This study analyzes the production and phonological status of three types of glottalized or glottal segments: five vowels, three of which are phonemic /aˀ, eˀ, oˀ/, an obstruent [ʔ] and a voiced creaky approximant [*]. Based on acoustic analyzes and on a morpheme syllabification task, the glottalization as a vowel feature is confirmed, while the other two segments found only in intervocalic position and unrelated to the glottal vowels would instead involve a suprasegmental feature [constricted glottis] as a syllabification strategy to repair a canonical CV template between two vowels in a hiatus when the first has a low tone and the second, a high tone (V̀ 1.V́ 2).Le korebaju est une langue amazonienne de Colombie. Quatre enquêtes de terrain réalisées entre 2017 et 2022 auprès six locuteurs d'un même village ont permis de dégager un ensemble de productions glottales qui semble relever des niveaux segmental et suprasegmental. Ici on analyse la production et le statut phonologique de trois types de segment glottalisés ou glottaux : cinq voyelles dont trois phonémiques /aˀ, eˀ, oˀ/, une obstruante [ʔ] et une approximante craquée voisée [*]. En nous appuyant ensuite sur des analyses acoustiques et sur une tâche de syllabation des morphèmes, la glottalisation comme un trait de la voyelle est confirmée, alors que les deux autres segments trouvés uniquement en position intervocalique (et sans lien avec les voyelles glottales) comporteraient plutôt un trait suprasegmental [constricted glottis] qui surface au milieu des hiatus de séquence tonale BH (V̀1.V́2) et opère comme une stratégie de réparation de la syllabe canonique CV
