Tesserae of Graduates. Competences for Mosaics of Work Activities

In this paper we analyse the competences used by the Bachelor and Master graduates of the University of Padua to perform their work roles. Through multivariate statistical methods, we analyse the frequencies with which the basic, cross-occupation and occupation-specific competences are used by employed graduates. The basic idea is that competences may be considered tesserae of a mosaic of graduate\u2019s professional personality. We analyse the relationship between competences and a set of professions. The differential effect, on competence use, of the specific degree held by each graduate is evaluated through a multilevel statistical analysis, so to connect graduate\u2019s features and working environment\u2019s characteristics in terms of a selected set of competences
