When thinking about Pharaohs, Tutankhamun (1334–1327 BC, 18th Dynasty) immediately comes to mind. The discovery of his tomb by Howard Carter in 1922 remains one of the most spectacular archaeological finds, having occurred almost accidentally. Tutankhamun’s tomb is in fact famous for the presence of numerous golden objects and other prestigious artifacts, including the remarkable funerary mask, the fine jewelry and the shrine with poignant statues of goddesses.
