Adequate sleep is essential for good health, physical functioning, cognitive performance, and self-regulatory processes. In contrast, sleep disorders affect multiple aspects of an individual’s life, including daytime activity, social interactions, mood, and quality of life, playing a role in the whole healthcare public system. Consistently, sleep disorders, especially insomnia, have been reported to be key risk factors for mental and somatic disorders.
