This essay was inspired by the centenary of the roman School of Architecture and the excellent material made available by the Moretti Magnifico archives. The goal is to define Luigi Moretti as an ‘integral architect’, a typical example of the School of Rome. In his work in fact arises an idea of architecture synthesizable as critical blend of interdisciplinary elements. In particular we will focus on the central role of the representation of architecture, as a fundamental passage from the analysis of the ancient monuments to the designing of the modern ones.
