The atmospheric phenomena in giant planets has been historically simulated by approximating it to a two-dimensional approach. This represents a good approximation as long as a thin layer of fluid is considered. The Shallow Water schemes that have been developed in the parallel code SA3 are either mono-layer or one-and-a-half layers, yet a multi-layer model has remained until now an unresolved challenge. In this thesis the implementation of a multi-layer Shallow Water model is accomplished and incorporated to the SA3 code, by forcing the effect of the zonal jets that are an essential part of the development and preservation over time of the atmospheric storms and the addition of an abyssal layer in substitution of a rigid bottom.
