Natural language generation : the state of the art and literature

The purpose of this paper is to present the main issues and concepts of the generation process as well as the principal achievements accomplished in this field up to date. Since generation is a relatively new developing research area, our objective is to sort out its goals and identify its problems in an attempt to establish a coherent framework in which to fit the various approaches adopted by generation researchers.
