Development of a user interface for a maintenance protocol : User interface for maintenance on gas turbines

Siemens Energy AB have for many decades constructed, manufactured and maintained gas turbines but now face a new challenge of systemising and digitalising the maintenance. This will be done by linking the essential information the maintenance engineer needs in a user interface. The task within this bachelor thesis is to give a proposal of a user interface through studying available data models and dialogs with personnel involved in this project. Furthermore, the user interface was presented to Siemens Energy personnel and thereby receiving feedback for further development of the user interface. The user interface came to containing reference conditions of the gas turbine operation, lifetime assessments on the components and maintenance protocols to ease the maintenance on the gas turbines. To accomplish this a theoretical background was needed of the wear of gas turbines, by studying were the wear and tear originate from and what the consequences becomes. The damages were determined to consist of cracking and corrosion, caused by external factors as the varying air qualities.
