Older adults\u27 perception and usage of smartphone

Medij, ki ga uporabljamo za komunikacijo, ima velik vpliv na način, strukturo in hitrost interakcij, poleg tega vpliva tudi na kakovost in količino prenesenih sporočil. Že stacionarni telefon je svet navidezno zmanjšal, saj je omogočil komunikacijo z geografsko oddaljenimi osebami, s prihodom mobilnega in kasneje pametnega telefona pa se je komunikacija še pospešila in postala dostopnejša. Danes je mobilna telefonska komunikacija nuja in veliki večini predstavlja pomemben del interakcij. V diplomskem delu me zanima, kako se kažejo razlike v uporabi pametnega telefona in njegovih funkcij med starejšo generacijo. Te so bile preučevane na podlagi spola, predhodnih izkušenj s tehnologijo, geografske oddaljenosti z bližnjimi, načinom bivanja in izobrazbo. Na raziskovalni vprašanji sem v empiričnem delu naloge odgovorila s pomočjo podatkov, ki so bili zbrani z intervjuji. Analiza rezultatov je pokazala, da je raba pametnega telefona kompleksna in moramo pri interpretaciji upoštevati vse naštete dejavnike, saj uporaba funkcij ni enoznačna ali enostavna.The medium we use for communication has a great influence on the way, structure and speed of interactionsin addition, it also affects the quality and quantity of transmitted messages. A landline phone has already seemingly reduced the world, as it has enabled communication with geographically distant people, with the progress of the mobile and later the smartphone, communication has accelerated and became even more accessible. Today, mobile phone communication is a necessityfor the vast majority it represents an important part of interactions. In my dissertation, I am interested in how the differences in the use of a smartphone and its functions between the older generation are reflected. These were studied on the basis of gender, previous experience with technology, geographical distances with close ones, lifestyle and education. In the empirical part of the thesis, I answered the research questions with the help of data collected through interviews. The analysis of the results shows, that the use of a smartphone is complex and we must take into account all of the above factors in the interpretation, as the use of functions is not unambiguous or simple
