One high voltage substation is reaching the end of its lifecycle and must be renewed. Therefore, a new substation will be built next to the old one, and the old substations will be demolished. The four overhead transmission lines that are connected to the old substation need to be transferred and connected to the new one in the most efficient and safe way possible. The soil conditions, the overhead line forces and the weather conditions are some factors that need to be taken into account in order to choose the correct towers. The client demands also that the CO2 footprint of this projects needs to be considered while choosing the constructions that will be used. For the three parallel transmission lines there are two different towers that can be used; HV4 and stubbe. A comparison is made and even though the one of them has lower CO2 emissions, the client oversees it and chooses the safest solution. The fourth line on the east side of the substation is more obvious in means of choosing the constructions that can be used. The client gave a proposal and the engineers looked into it and made small adjustments. The project was completed with a documentation delivery to the client with all the drawings and calculations that have been made during the process. As a result, the client receives the documentation and the contractor is building the transmission lines accordingly to the plan and the documentation that was delivered to them with no upcoming problems so far
