Storytelling as a method in history teaching

The purpose of our research is to investigate why and how teachers use storytelling as a teaching method. It is also of interest to analyze how adaptable stories are in teaching. In order to make this possible, we chose to start from a qualitative method. The qualitative method in our research was done based on 7 different interviews. The interviews were done individually with the teachers and based on the analysis answered our questions. Our conclusion is that stories bear a key role in the understanding of past events and their impact on the modern world. The informants stated that stories were being used to both access data but also to engage students in the history lessons. Overall, the teachers had a positive take on using stories as part of their education.
