Biogeografia de copepoda em estuários brasileiros

Estuaries are semi-closed coastal ecosystems, defined by determining the transition between the river and the sea, rich in organic matter and nutrients, making it attractive to the development, establishment and reproduction of many living beings, among them zooplankton.These heterotrophic aquatic organisms, found in the water column, have an extreme ecological importance, as the size and distribution of the population are influenced by numerous factors due to their high degree of sensitivity and accelerated life cycle. The characterization of this group along the latitudinal gradient exposes the distribution of these organisms through time and space, considering how ecological processes and their adaptations to the disturbances of the environment interfere in this community. Thus, the present study describes, based on data available in the literature, the similarity between the Brazilian estuaries and their phylogenetic diversity from the composition of the copepod group. A bibliographic review study was conducted addressing scientific works focusing on the group of estuarine copepods. From the geography and hidrology characteristics, the estuaries were defined in ecoregions by Gower's analysis and related based on the copepod assemblage by the Jaccard and Raup-Crick indices. The selection of data sets for statistical analyses resulted in 121 species, 67 genera and 28 families. Five ecoregions (North, Northeast-North, Northeast-South, Southeast and South) were identified, which compared to the ecoregions defined by Spalding et al., 2007, are similar, noting a displacement to the north of the estuaries in relation to the commonly known ecoregions. The species Pseudodiaptomus acutus, Parvocalanus crassirostris and Acartia lilljeborgii have a wide distribution, both in the geographic regions and in the ecoregions defined in this study, while the Southern region has a greater number of species (31.46%). The Jaccard index, for species composition, has a better representation of the similarity of estuaries, isolating the estuaries of the southern region from the others. Among the 30 estuaries analyzed, according to the composition of the species, nine (30%) do not correspond to the expected taxonomic distinction value, being external to the 95% confidence funnel, while eight (26.7%) estuaries, among them the Massangana River (PE) and the Una do Prelado River (SP), present high values of taxonomic distinction, above the hypothetical distribution, being considered, therefore, estuaries with greater diversity.Estuários são ecossistemas costeiros semifechados, definidos por determinar a transição entre o rio e o mar, ricos em matéria orgânica e nutrientes, tornando-o atrativo ao desenvolvimento, estabelecimento e reprodução de muitos seres vivos, dentre eles, o zooplâncton. Estes organismos aquáticos heterotróficos encontrados na coluna d’água são de extrema importância ecológica, pois o tamanho e a distribuição da população sofrem influência de inúmeros fatores devido ao seu alto grau de sensibilidade e ciclo de vida acelerado. A caracterização desse grupo ao longo do gradiente latitudinal expõe a distribuição desses organismos através do tempo e espaço, considerando como os processos ecológicos e suas adaptações às perturbações do meio interferem nessa comunidade. Dessa forma, o presente trabalho descreve, com base em dados disponíveis na literatura, a similaridade entre os estuários brasileiros e sua diversidade filogenética a partir da composição do grupo de copépodes. Foi realizado um estudo de revisão bibliográfica abordando trabalhos científicos com foco ao grupo dos copépodes estuarinos. A partir das características geográficas e hidrológicas, os estuários foram definidos em ecorregiões pela análise de Gower e relacionados com base na assembleia de copépodes pelos índices de Jaccard e Raup-Crick. A seleção dos conjuntos de dados para as análises estatísticas resultou em 121 espécies, 67 gêneros e 28 famílias. Foram identificadas cinco ecorregiões (Norte, Nordeste-Norte, Nordeste-Sul, Sudeste e Sul) que, comparadas às ecorregiões definidas por Spalding et al., 2007, são semelhantes, constatando um deslocamento ao norte dos estuários em relação às ecorregiões usualmente conhecidas. As espécies Pseudodiaptomus acutus, Parvocalanus crassirostris e Acartia lilljeborgii possuem ampla distribuição, tanto nas regiões geográficas quanto nas ecorregiões definidas neste estudo, enquanto a região Sul possui um número maior de espécies (31, 46%). O índice de Jaccard, para a composição de espécies, tem uma melhor representação da similaridade dos estuários, isolando os estuários da ecorregião sul dos demais. Dentre os 30 estuários analisados, de acordo com a composição das espécies, nove (30%) não correspondem ao valor de distinção taxonômica esperada, estando externos ao funil de 95% de confiança, enquanto oito (26.7%) estuários, dentre eles o do rio Massangana (PE) e do rio Una do Prelado (SP), apresentam altos valores de distinção taxonômica, acima da distribuição hipotética, sendo considerados, portanto, estuários com maior diversidade.Dados abertos - Sucupira - Teses e dissertações (2020
