In this work, the results of the numerical hydrological modeling are presented, by simulation of the precipitation‐runoff process with unit hydrograph, of the recent flood events in the upper basin of the Eresma river, on the northern slope of the Sierra de Guadarrama (Spanish Sistema Central). It is observed that the incorporation of the geomorphological cartography improves in the estimation of the curve number parameter for this area. Therefore, the geomorphological disposition of the basin is important also with respect to know the origin of the precipitations and the runoff derived from it.
