Estudio paleoentomológico del yacimiento Mioceno de San Chils (cuenca de Ribesalbes-Alcora, Castellón, España

Zarautz, Guipúzcoa). - Texto en español con resumen en inglés. - ResumenFor the first time the study of the fossil record of the lacustrine San Chils outcrop Lower Miocene in age (19 million years), located at the Ribesalbes-Alcora Basin, is addressed. Apart of plant remains and vertebrate coprolites, nine families and three genera in five insect orders (Thysanoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Hymenoptera and Diptera) have been identified. A comparison of the fossil records of San Chils and the other relevant outcrop in the basin, La Rinconada in the same sedimentary unit, has been carried out. Despite the low abundance of fossils in San Chils, the comparison of both records shows a similar paleoecology in general terms.
