There is often clinical inertia despite poor glycaemic control. The aim was to evaluate the effect on glycaemic control of introducing a more intensive protocol of care for patients with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes (HbA1c > 10%) at Khayelitsha Community Health Centre, Cape Town.
