In this volume – starting from the analysis of some Italian universities – we aim at unveiingl if and how it is possible to measure and infer upon the quality of the education achieved by graduates by analysing their transition to the labour market and the short and mid term professional career. Ther volume includes a set of papers on the effectiveness of university education, another on employability of graduates with a discussion on assessment indicators, and finally a set of papers on competence analysis for external assessment
