TANGGUNG JAWAB HUKUM PT. INDEX TRANSPORTAMA CABANG YOGYAKARTA SEBAGAI PENGANGKUT DARAT ATAS KERUSAKAN BARANG

Transportation of goods is important in order to support human life. The function of transportation of goods is to move goods from one place to a certain destination. The formulation of the problem in writing this law is that how the legal liabilty of PT. Index Transportama Yogyakarta Branch as Land Transportation for Damage to Sender’s Goods? This study used empirical method. Moreover, the aim of this study is to determine the liabilty of the transportation company in the delivery of goods to the sender who suffered losses due to loss of goods because of negligence on the part of the carrier. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the transportation company does not repack the sender's goods which are not packed neatly so that there is damage on the sender's goods and it has not fully conducted the liabilty in the occurrence of loss suffered by the sender. If there is a dispute between the parties, it is conducted through non-litigation
