PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH B3 (BAHAN BERBAHAYA DAN BERACUN) DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM PKU MUHAMMADIYAH BANTUL DALAM UPAYA PENGENDALIAN PENCEMARAN DI KABUPATEN BANTUL

Hospitals are the main means to support and improve public health. Every hospital operational activity has the potential to produce waste that has an impact on environmental pollutionss. Environmental pollution is the entry of pollutants into the natural environment that can cause changes that damage the environment. This study aims to determine the procedures for implementing and managing Hazardous waste by PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital and to find out what are the obstacles faced in the implementation of Hazardous waste management. Based on the research, the management of Hazardous waste at PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital has been carried out well but not yet optimal. This is evidenced by the existence of a temporary storage area to accommodate the waste generated. The wastes are transported by the final processor, PT. Arah, get destroyed. The obstacle faced in the implementation of Hazardous waste management is when a third party as the final processor is late to transport the waste so that the accumulation of waste occurs. The implementation of Hazardous waste management by PKU Muhammad Bantul Hospital has not been optimal due to several obstacles, including: lack of trash cans, delays in transporting waste, empty plastic bag supplies, janitors who are still negligent in managing waste
