Hennebique system was largely spread in Europe for reinforced concrete constructions such as frames, beams and slabs, silos, bridges and footbridges, starting from 1892. In Italy the system was adopted by Ing. Porcheddu Society, of Torino, which held the agency for Italy of Hennebique copyright, starting from 1896. The structural typologies for r/c bridges were mainly girder bridges and arch bridges. Many are the bridges built in Italy.
