The relationship between sustainability and wellbeing its connection with mitigation and adaptation policies

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the relationship between sustainability and wellbeing and its connection with mitigation and adaptation policies. For the relationship between sustainability and wellbeing, the history and definitions of the terms themselves are described and then the overall multidimensionality of the concept and the individual dimensions are shown through the relational theory of wellbeing. Subsequently, the interconnection of these concepts is discussed along with the disregard for a full understanding of wellbeing in an economic growth orientation. For the mitigation and adaptation section, 11 studies were selected. At the end, the conclusions are presented: Wellbeing is often understood in a limited way, while it is clear from the theories described that wellbeing is also conditioned by the environment, and environmental sustainability is a necessary condition for wellbeing. Similarly, mitigation and adaptation policies have been shown to have some link to wellbeing, but often wellbeing has not been understood as important and has been put in the background of research. However, the relationship between sustainability and wellbeing is also important for further research on climate change mitigation and adaptaton policies
