SOCIAL ACTION DALAM PERNIKAHAN DI MASA PANDEMI (STUDI KASUS DS. DENANYAR KEC. JOMBANG KAB. JOMBANG)

Denanyar village is the village with the highest marriage rate compared to other villages. In total, from July 2020-July 2021, a total of 98 couples. The researcher also found events in the community of Denanyar Village, Jombang District, that marriage is a moment that is highly desired and awaited by every prospective bride and groom and their extended family. However, the presence of Covid-19 has caused anxiety, uncertainty, and concern among people who want to carry out marriages, because there are restrictions on access to services and are worried about being exposed to the Covid-19 virus. Holding a wedding during this pandemic is not easy, because it requires various considerations that are supported by the reasons for carrying out the marriage. Moreover, the decision to get married during the Covid-19 pandemic was filled with various challenges. Looking at the portrait, the focus of this research is; First, why do the people of Denanyar Village continue to carry out marriages during the Covid-19 pandemic. Second, how are the manifestations of the social action motives of the people of Denanyar Village in marriages during the Covid-19 pandemic? This study will use Max Weber's theory of social action with a type of field research that uses a legal sociology approach. The results of this study were found to be a factor in which the Denanyar community continued to get married during the pandemic, namely because of government policies regarding the implementation of marriage, so that the Denanyar community understood that marriage was still legal and allowed to be carried out even in the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Then some people also reason that getting married during a pandemic is very profitable because it minimizes the cost of the wedding ceremony and avoids the occurrence of debts at the wedding. Then the social action of the Denanyar community in marriage is manifested in the classification of actions that have become the construction of the behavior of the informants. The actions include; 1). Affectual action is an attitude of legal plurality carried out by the Denanyar community, 2). Traditional action in the form of maintaining customary law, Islam, and the state as a practice that is always carried out, 3). An act of instrument rationality is manifested by logical arguments, understanding that there is no prohibition in the law regarding marriage during a pandemic, 4). An act of value rationality is manifested in the values that society wants to achieve in the form of harmony in the form of financial strength and a secure marriage. Thus, through reading social action, it can be found that the harmonization of law in the Denanyar community is the motive for carrying out marriages during the Covid-19 pandemic, while the motive for the value of the goal is happiness in life during the pandemic as the goal of people to continue to marry
