Impiego di un harvester in ambiente alpino

An empirical study was carried out to analyze the parameters that can influence the productivity of a harvester operating under conditions typically alpine. The study involved the use of a Timberjack 1270D harvester, equipped with a head Timberjack H758, during a thinning operation in a spruce forest and in a mixed spruce-beech forest. The data collected have allowed to draw up a productivity model that consists of three parts: a model for the handling of stems, one for the locomotion and one for the idle time. The time required to manipulate a stem is result be a function of its volume; the time necessary for locomotion is a function of stand density, of the slope of the land and of the percentage of harvesting intensity.
