This thesis focuses on the human movement vigor, i.e., the speed spontaneously chosen by an individual to perform a voluntary action. The literature shows that vigor depends on an individual's implicit motiva-tion in the task and on a neural circuit involving the basal ganglia, as suggested by the bradykinesia of parkinsonian patients. Our initial work focused on the consistency of inter-individual differences of vigor and confirmed the trait-like aspect of vigor despite changes in tasks or effectors, with the ocu-lomotor system appearing to be apart (Study 1).
