This paper describes the survey of a road tunnel, performed with a TOF laser scanner, and the solutions adopted to overcome the problems encountered during subsequently 3D model reconstruction. The main advantage of using a laser scanner rely on the capability of collecting a very large amount of 3-D data, in a relative short time, and generating a 3D digital model of large infrastructures. This model can be then exported in various file formats, such DXF or 3ds, which are readable by wathever CAD design or texturing software, with all consequently advantages. Thanks to these features, a great interest has aroused towards these survey devices, regarding their use as effective support for applications in the field of cultural heritage, indus...
