In the era of nanotechnology, the use of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) is increasing. Inhalation exposure of workers during production, use or handling raises concerns about their adverse health effects due to their physico-chemical properties as well as their biopersistence. Because of their physical characteristics, they can easily reach the deep airways and deposit in the pulmonary epithelium.
