This brief article explains the contents of a course in Pacific Salmon and its value to law students. The article sketches the various components of such a course, including 1) Indian treaty fishing rights, 2) hydroelectric power production and its effects on salmon migration, 3) the fish and wildlife program called for by the Northwest Power Act, 4) regulation of ocean harvests, 5) international and interstate dimensions, and 6) the challenge of restoring wild stocks of salmon in a region dominated by hatchery salmon. The article concludes with the suggestion that an overarching issue is the optimum jurisdiction unit for restoring Pacific salmon
