This thesis evaluated the effectiveness of a digitally-based dietary intervention to modulate distinct components of appetite for energy-dense foods in various forms of implementation, settings, and participant groups. Specifically, the thesis argued for the application of a nuanced framework of food reward when reliably evaluating the efficacy of dietary interventions, especially in individuals expressing susceptibility to overconsumption. The rigorous evaluation of digitally-based dietary interventions will be important as the use of digital devices and metabolic issues, such as obesity, has become more prevalent in all parts of society
