Diesel engine is responsible of environment pollution and has a bad impact on the quality of environment because of the emissions of the engine running on the diesel like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons. Biodiesel have been proved a suitable substitute of diesel in the world to meet the requirements of energy. In this report, the performance and emission characteristics of the diesel engine have been studied using two fuels Petroleum diesel PD and WCO-ME 20% at engine compression ratios of 16:1 and 18:1. The main findings of this work are that diesel engine can perform satisfactorily on the blend of WCO-ME 20% because we found that power increases as the engine speed increases for both fuels and both compression ratio...
