Education is meant to be a reflection of its community. This means that as the community grows and changes, so should education. My thesis asks the question of how Lincoln Public Schools can better reflect the ever-growing population of refugees in the community. It answers this question by offering the outline of a high school elective Refugee Literature course that is in partnership with local refugee organizations. This course creates an interactive community between adolescent and adult refugee populations as well offers a space in which refugee voices in literature are celebrated and learned from.
