Strokes of Medieval Aesthetics

El presente artículo reseña las características fundamentales de la estética medieval. Con ello, pretende poner de manifiesto lo injustificado de las acusaciones de oscurantismo, a la par que reivindicar su relevancia para la historia general de la cultura. La estética medieval, asimismo, también nos ayuda a comprender mejor la manera de ver la realidad de una época que todavía hoy permanece excesivamente ignorada.This article discusses the key features of the medieval aesthetics. Its proposal is to «clarify» how are unjustified the accusations of obscurantism, while claiming its relevance to the general history of culture. The medieval aesthetics also helps us to better understand the view of the reality of an era that still remains overly ignored
