In order to satisfy the increasing demand for versatility in communication systems, with the ability to point to mobile users, new filtering functions must be developed to meet the challenges of real-time bandwidth allocation and optimization of antenna systems having more and more radiating elements. The research work reported in this thesis addresses these issues by studying advanced band-pass filtering functions, with the ability to absorb power in the stopped bands, in order to limit the coupling between sources of a multi-channel antenna system, and to reconfigure the bandwidth allocation according to the user's needs.
