The rosy apple aphid (Dysaphis plantaginea) is one of the main pests of apple trees. Its stings cause severe deformation of the plant organs resulting in the production of small, lumpy, unmarketable fruit. The control of this pest is based on the installation of hedges and shelters for auxiliaries, but above all, on insecticide treatments, in PFI (Integrated Fruit Production) as in AB (Organic Agriculture). Several alternative solutions exist such as the use of physical barriers, defoliants, service plants or plant extracts to control pests in orchards.
