This thesis is a part of the project Chair between Renault and Centrale Nantes for the improvement of EV/HEV propulsion performances. It is dedicated to proposed con trol strategies for a serial hybrid vehicle without the main battery. In the serial hybrid mode, the internal combustion engine is coupled with an electrical generator to produce power used by a second electric motor to propel the vehicle. In the absence of the main battery, the powertrain has small energy buffer, making the sys tem sensitive to small disturbance.
