This work and a predecessor investigation form a two-part experimental research program on the effective thermal conductivities of graphite-epoxy composites - the type which is used extensively in aerospace structures and other applications. Effective thermal conductivities were determined from 90 F to 250 F for composites with fibers arranged in the 0/90 and 0/+ or - 45/90 patterns. The fiber content was 60% by volume. Analysis of the data in this work and the predecessor study established a correspondence principle between the directional effective conductivities of composites with uni-directional fibers and conductivities of other types of fiber arrangements.
