The research objectives are to develop effective procedures for computing fluid flow at ultra high pressures where fluids exhibit very different thermodynamic behavior than the perfect gas and incompressible fluid models that are commonly used in CFD simulations. Three issues to be addressed include: developing RANS algorithms for arbitrary fluid applications; developing efficient properties evaluation procedures for arbitrary fluids; and extending hybrid RANS-LES algorithms to high pressures.
