Background: Olanzapine (OLZ) is an antipsychotic with a high risk of metabolic syndrome, and its induced metabolic disturbance may be related to the thermogenic function of brown adipose tissue (BAT). Of note is that schizophrenia itself appears to be associated with a higher incidence of metabolic syndrome.
