International audienceRather than considering tourist buses as a pejorative expression of mass tourism, this paper argues that it is a true spatial technology that helps individuals to manage the “otherness” of one tourist place. The purpose is to highlight the fact that individuals are not able, at the same level, to cope with space. Indeed, we insist on the idea that to “deal with” space is not obvious: we argue that to inhabit a place means to cope with some spatial stakes. To manage these epreuves, individual must mobilize skills, defined as the mastery of techniques.
