The objective of this study is to evaluate whether there is a relationship(s) between intrauterine position, birth weight and macroscopic placental characteristics observed in Boerboel puppies. The intrauterine position is modeled in 3 different ways: laterality, standardized position and categorized position. The study was conducted on 12 programmed cesarean delivery of purebred Boerboel bitches. The average birth weight is 577.4 ± 137.9 g and ranges from 200 to 938 g. The weight and the surface of the attachment zone are 50.3 ± 13.0 g and 8454 ± 1300 mm2 respectively. They are between 22 and 85 g for the weight and between 5211 to 12150 mm2 for the surface.
