Apport de la radiographie dans l’étude de l’arrêt de transit chez le lapin domestique

Gastrointestinal syndrome in domestic rabbits is a common condition, the cause of which is poorly understood and the prognosis of which is poor in many cases. Abdominal radiography is one of the first-line examinations carried out in the event of suspected cessation of transit, without it being known whether the radiographic appearance of the digestive organs is capable of predicting a resumption of transit or not. The first part of this thesis presents the digestive anatomy of the rabbit, the radiographic aspect of the digestive organs of the healthy rabbit and the radiographic abnormalities revealed during a gastrointestinal syndrome. In the second experimental part, two populations of rabbits, healthy and with gastrointestinal syndrome, were selected in order to compare their respective abdominal X-rays. The purpose of this analysis is to determine which radiographic criterion(s) could predict the short-term prognosisL’arrêt de transit chez le lapin domestique est une affection fréquente, dont la cause est mal connue et dont le pronostic est sombre dans de nombreux cas. La radiographie abdominale fait partie des examens réalisés en première intention en cas de suspicion d’arrêt de transit sans que l’on sache si l’aspect radiographique des organes digestifs est capable de prédire ou non une reprise du transit. La première partie de cette thèse présente l’anatomie digestive du lapin, l’aspect radiographique des organes digestifs du lapin sain et les anomalies radiographiques observées lors d’un arrêt de transit. Dans la seconde partie expérimentale, deux populations de lapins, sains et en arrêt de transit, ont été sélectionné afin de comparer leurs clichés abdominaux respectifs.
