Reliable forecasting tools of river low-flows are necessary to adapt to droughts intensified by climate change. Among hydrological processes in catchments, those involving aquifers are crucial for droughts: indeed, aquifers have the ability to store water on the long run, which gives them a role in sustaining streamflow when the other components of the catchment do not contribute to streamflow any more. We explored the integration of groundwater level data as a possible way to improve low-flow modelling.
