The primary origin of the puzzle of hypothetical Dark Matter (DM) is due to the apparent failure of Newtonian gravity to explain Astronomical observations revealing rotation curves of stars being flat, first of all, in spiral galaxies, like the Milky Way. Over time, the DM became an indispensable subject in the Standard Cosmological Model and spread to other branches of Modern Physics, which have already had their own problems. This made a scientific formulation of the DM problem inherently inconsistent and hardly testable.
