Abstract Three piano recitals were given in lieu of a written dissertation. The first recital presented works by two French composers, Debussy and Ravel. The recital took place on Friday, April 2, 2021, 8:00 p.m. in Stamps Auditorium, at the Walgreen Drama Center at the University of Michigan. Works performed were Preludes, Book 1, nos. 2, 10, 12, and Book 2, nos. 8, 12, and Images, Book I, by Claude Debussy; and Gaspard de la nuit, by Maurice Ravel. The second recital combined a lecture-presentation with a performance of a sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven.
